GAYATHIRI
Hi! I’m Gayathiri. I’m a poet, facilitator and creative producer based in the UK.
I’m interested in how language shapes childhood and how we might use it to queer the future.
I tell stories through poetry that ask: Whose imagination are we living in? How do we build anti-colonial worlds? When do we get to practise freedom?
I've performed with the Roundhouse, DAYTIMERS, Apples and Snakes & BBC Contains Strong Language. My writing & audio poetry is published in bath magg, Propel, Magma, zindabad zine & Burnt Roti.
I won the Faber & Andlyn Publisher's Prize 2022 and the Primadonna Prize 2021. My debut novel in verse is forthcoming with Faber. I run the decolonising poetry workshop WORD-BENDERS at The Common Press bookshop in East London.
Get in touch to work with me!
