GAYATHIRI
Hi! I’m Gayathiri. I’m a poet, facilitator and creative producer based in the UK.
I’m interested in how language shapes childhood and how we might use it to queer the future.
I tell stories through poetry that ask: Whose imagination are we living in? How do we build anti-colonial worlds? When do we get to practise freedom?
I've performed with the Roundhouse, DAYTIMERS, Apples and Snakes & BBC Contains Strong Language. I won the Disabled Poets Prize 2024, the Faber & Andlyn Publisher's Prize 2022 and the Primadonna Prize 2021. I'm a member of the Southbank Centre New Poets Collective & my debut novel is forthcoming with Faber.
